DORA is a designated area approved by City Council that allows patrons 21+ to purchase alcoholic beverages in a designated cup from permitted establishments and carry the beverages within a defined Downtown area.
Effective 12 noon to 12 midnight, 7 days a week, year round.
ENTER any liquor establishment and request your favorite adult beverage in a disposable cup with a DORA sticker.
EXIT the liquor establishment and walk the sidewalks of Downtown Wilmington. Beverages must be in a cup with a DORA sticker to leave an establishment.
ENJOY your beverages while strolling through Downtown Wilmington at any participating merchant with the blue DORA sign.
DISPOSE of your DORA cup when empty. DORA cups are one time use and must be thrown away prior to entering any permitted establishment (business that holds a liquor license) or any business with the red DORA decal. *Please respect non-participating businesses with red signs and do not bring a DORA cup inside.

Q: Can I bring my own alcoholic beverage, pour it into a DORA cup, and walk around in the DORA? A: No. Only drinks purchased from qualified businesses within the DORA are allowed. No cans, metal or glass bottles, or outside drinks are permitted within the boundaries.
Q: Can I take my DORA cup back inside the establishment in which it was purchased? A: No. Once a DORA cup has left a business, it must be consumed before you re-enter the business in which it was purchased, or before you enter any other business that serves alcoholic beverages.
