Bicentennial Leadership Gala

Bicentennial Leadership Gala - R.S.V.P. and save your spot at the Gala.  The historically themed evening provides an excellent setting to recognize Clinton County's Leaders of the Year, to sit back and enjoy a look at a local story about the Harvey's visit to see President Lincoln, to enjoy a taste of yesterday, and to break away with a steal or a deal at the live and silent auctions with items valued at $25 to $2,000.  Simply RSVP by mailing (P.O. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ); or faxing (937-382-7120) the following information by March 10: your name, e-mail address, phone, number attending ($45 per person), and names of guests. Payment must be received at the Clinton County Leadership office by March 10. Corporate sponsorship tables are available for $500.  The event will take place at the Roberts Centre, 123 Gano Rd., Wilmington, 6 pm to 9 pm.  The event is open to the public.

 

New Business Training Given By Main Street

Gerry SchultzOn November 5, Main Street Wilmington hosted another workshop in the Lunch & Learn series.  Attended by nearly 20 people, the topic was “Starting A Small Business in Downtown Wilmington.”  Presentations were made by Steve Brown, Main Street Executive Director, Gerry Schultz, SCORE, Laura Curliss, Assistant to the Mayor of Wilmington, and Frank Wollenhaupt, Small Business Resource Center.

Lunch & Learn

Main Street Wilmington recently held its second “Lunch & Learn” featuring Pam Stricker, publisher for the Wilmington News Journal. A group of 21, representing local non-profits, small businesses, and interested citizens learned the in’s and out’s to submitting their news to the paper and differentiating between a news message and an advertising message. Requested by attendees, a follow-up workshop will be held at a later date to assist small businesses in writing an advertising plan and budget.
