On November 5, Main Street Wilmington hosted another workshop in the Lunch & Learn series. Attended by nearly 20 people, the topic was “Starting A Small Business in Downtown Wilmington.” Presentations were made by Steve Brown, Main Street Executive Director, Gerry Schultz, SCORE, Laura Curliss, Assistant to the Mayor of Wilmington, and Frank Wollenhaupt, Small Business Resource Center.
Shared with attendees was available real estate in downtown Wilmington, benefits of locating a business downtown, an overview of the mini-revolving loan fund that may become available for new businesses, an overview of resources available through the Small Business Resource Center, and an overview of what is required to develop a business plan in order to apply for a bank loan.
The workshop may be offered again after the first of the year. Other workshops are also being developed. For additional information about Main Street Wilmington or locating a business downtown, contact Steve Brown at 937-283-9265.
